Metaphor

Definition: A figurative language that implies comparison between two unlike things that has something common or similar. Extended metaphor is a metaphor that compares on multiple things instead of two.

Example:

-The detective listened to her tales with a wooden face.

-She was fairly certain that life was a fashion show.

Significance: Metaphor is so wonderful that we use it everyday in our lifes. People use millions of metaphor every single day without noticing it. You may think that you use metaphor once or twice a day. Probably, you're using metaphor right now. Metaphor is the reason why we laugh when someone makes a joke. Joke often contains metaphor. This is why metaphor is so important to us everyday.
